SIR - It's a shame Dr Drew Whitelegg hadn't travelled to Woolmer Green, as there are house sparrows living here.
In fact, I've had them successfully breeding in the roof eves for the past 16 years... they've even snubbed a "des res" sparrow nest box put up for them a couple of years ago!
The sparrows are seen in both my front and back gardens daily, as I've always put out a variety of foods for the numerous species of birds in my gardens each day.
I also feed the badgers at night... mine is what you would call a "wildlife haven"!
