SIR - I would like to comment on the letter 'Menace of flying rats'.
I love animals and I do love the racing pigeon sport.
I have a little loft with 25 young birds. My birds fly once a day, depending on the weather. If it rains, they never fly.
A neighbour of mine has no clue about the differences between domesticated pigeons and wood pigeons.
She has several bird feeders in her garden, which attract wood pigeons.
She also has a cat which does its business in my garden.As an animal lover I clean after it.
I am not saying pigeons are the cleanest birds, but there are different types of pigeon,
Her Majesty the Queen is patron of The Royal Pigeon Racing Association, and she keeps few birds herself.
