SIR - It is outrageous that the Catholic hierarchy is again putting pressure on MPs to vote against the interests of constituents who are hoping for research which may lead to alleviation of diseases like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, etc.
They claim motivation of "sanctity of life" while disregarding the suffering of those with these diseases.
MPs who put religious bigotry before the interests of their constituents should resign and make way for more open-minded representatives of the people.
