SIR - I am a governor at Creswick Primary and Nursery School and I am appalled at the state local roads.
I complained about Hollybush Lane a few weeks ago and the following day the road was administered to (I feel the word "repaired" inappropriate) with cold tarmac used to fill the potholes.
After a few days with frosty nights the freeze/thaw action on the so called repairs had made the road even more dangerous with loose chippings and the return of the potholes.
I have been informed by our local county councillor that this method of repair is no longer supposed to be used except when the pothole is particularly dangerous.
Unfortunately because Hertfordshire Highways doesn't appear to be repairing any potholes properly they all, in time, become "particularly dangerous".
Ian Clayden, governor, Creswick Primary, WGC.
