Family-friendly music festival Folk by the Oak returns to Hatfield next month – and we have a great ticket competition for the event.
Taking place at Hatfield House on Sunday, July 15, Folk by the Oak is the UK’s largest one-day folk festival.
The folk and acoustic showcase promises all the open-air buzz of a three-day festival packed into one joyous day of music, fun and bunting, without the need to camp.
As well as bringing together an exceptional line-up of folk, roots and acoustic talent, which this year includes international festival favourite Amy Macdonald, Ivor Novello Award winner Billy Bragg, and critically acclaimed Eliza Carthy, Folk by the Oak is a festival designed with fun for all the family in mind.
Recently voted The Green Parent Magazine readers’ favourite family festival and winner of Festival Kidz’s Best Day Festival Award, the Folk by the Oak arena has been cleverly designed by a team who are parents themselves.
The Main Stage with its outdoor arena means that children can freely dance about in the parkland, and the smaller, covered Acorn Stage attracts a little gathering of children right at the front singing along to favourite songs.
As well as programming a day of back-to-back music across these two stages, the organisers have lovingly gathered together many magical, unique and imaginative activities for children of all ages to enjoy.
And the fun-packed family area is in sight and sound of the Main Stage, so entertaining the kids needn’t mean missing out on your favourite artists.
Unusually in the festival world, you can even bring your own picnic to Folk by the Oak, so feeding kids doesn’t mean spending a fortune or leaving the auditorium.
Should supplies run low, there’s a carefully selected and plentiful array of tasty food stalls available too, as well as that festival essential for the grown-ups – the real ale bar!
We have three family passes worth £107, admitting two adults and two children, to be won.
