The football gods are not often known for their generosity but they were smiling on Welwyn Garden City after a thumping victory over Kings Langley - one that pushes them closer to the play-offs.
The 6-1 home win was their second in three days, Barton Rovers beaten 3-2 on Thursday night, and it forms the first part of a four-game saga, with Hadley heading to town on Tuesday and then league leaders Biggleswade Town on Thursday.
By then Welwyn's play-off fate will be a lot clearer but this success over Lango moves them five points behind Waltham Abbey in that final qualifying position, with four games in hand.
They overcame Kings Langley without influential skipper Brad Wadkins, unavailable for this game and replaced by Manny Yeboah.
Cyrus Babaie was preferred to Bailey Stevenson upfront, the second of two changes to that which beat Barton.
Dernell Wynter had helped himself to two on Thursday and would go on to get one more against Langley, taking him to eight in the last six, with two trebles.
He had the first sight of goal too on seven minutes, sending an effort over the top of Gabriel Ortelli’s goal.
At the other end Louie Collier was also off target before Wynter got the party started on 23 minutes.
Lynton Goss did well down the left and his cross was poked in by Wynter, getting the better of full-back Mike Gabbiah.
Two minutes later and the lead was doubled, Charlie McDonald's towering high ball was headed on by Babaie for Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo, who placed a looping header over Ortelli.
Kings Langley's hopes were then dented further when veteran striker Rene Howe picked up two yellows in four minutes and departed early.
There was still 10 minutes of the first-half remaining too, plenty of time for Welwyn to make it three as Goss, himself in a rich vein of form, held off two challenges and crashed in his 10th goal in as many games since joining.
Langley gave the hosts a rude reminder of the presence two minutes after the restart when Jorell Johnson fired high past Donnabhan Green.
But it merely stung WGC back into the stride and Wynter restored the three-goal advantage 10 minutes later, latching on to a Babaie flick and racing in to beat the keeper.
It then took the combined efforts of the Langley keeper and substitute Alfie Cain to get a Soulya-Osekanongo shot off the line, as Goss and Wynter opened up the visitors’ defence yet again mid-way through the half.
And even taking off Goss as part of a double change did little to change the clarets' momentum.
With six minutes remaining, manager Weatherstone made his third change, introducing 16-year-old forward Ryan Ansell for his first-team debut, after the youngster’s impressive season for the club under 18’s.
And he was on the pitch when Welwyn got their final two goals.
First, four minutes from time, defender Alex Harris won a powerful header forward and again Wynter was off and running through the spread-eagled Langley defence to shoot powerfully home for his hat-trick goal.
And as the game entered stoppage time, substitute Henry Jones collected the ball on the left, cut in and drove it into the far corner to complete a great display, the Citizens’ most emphatic victory of the campaign so far.
