RESIDENTS are being called upon to revitalise several key streets in Colchester's city centre as part of a designated 'Day of Action'.
The event, to be held on Monday, May 20, aims to deal with concerns such as litter, street cleaning, and the maintenance of street furniture.
Colchester Council staff will be on hand to support the clean-up efforts while also advising on living expenses, council tax, and other issues.
The initiative will target Osborne St, Queen St, St Botolph’s Street and St Botolph’s Priory.
Colchester Council's neighbourhood services and waste boss Martin Goss said: "Community involvement is crucial when it comes to maintaining areas of the city.
"Although we have a thorough maintenance programme in place, communities can make a huge difference too.
"These activities do not replace our maintenance schedules but make a special contribution to support them.
"All the areas we will tackle on these action days will come from residents’ own suggestions.
"We are listening to your concerns and continuing to work tirelessly to make a real difference to the lives of people across the city."
Residents and business owners who want to get involved or find out more information can get in touch at community.volunteers@colchester.gov.uk.
