Hi, my name is Jet.

I would like to tell you a little about myself in the hope you will come to meet me.

I am a sweet natured, affectionate, handsome and petite two-year-old neutered male, raven coloured cat, with beautiful big green eyes, who loves a warm lap to snuggle up on.

I had a terrifying life on the streets living as a stray for some time before I was rescued and brought to Southridge.

Having to scavenge for whatever food I could find, dodge cars, try to stay dry and manage the cold with no safe shelter, and with a nasty and painful wound on my neck, life was truly a challenge.

Kind and loving care have been my experiences since coming to Southridge. My injury was treated and after initially being understandably nervous and timid, the gentle care and patient handling I have received has helped me to come out of my shell.

Now I love to sit on the lap of my wonderful volunteer helpers, purring like a motor car, and enjoying a few tasty cat treats too.

Welwyn Hatfield Times: Jet

So folks, I am ready now to join a family that I can call my own!

While I am happy to live with children over 14 years old, and would consider another friendly feline companion, I do need a calm household and definitely don't want to share my home with a dog - too scary for me.

I am a young cat, who loves to play, have fun and loves human companionship once I know you, but initially I will need a quiet space, with high up places so I can hide if I want to until I feel more secure.

When I've settled I would appreciate a cat flap so I can go in and out at will to explore my environment and sunbathe (when we have some!).

But that warm lap, and gentle fuss which will switch on my purring motor, is what I dream of.

Please come and meet me soon.
