Training Zone has introduced bi-weekly over 50s classes, coined 'Aged-2-Perfection', on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10.30am.

These sessions abide by the CrossFit structure, centred on total body fitness and strength building, but are modified for those with reduced fitness and mobility.

Lead coach Adam Lyden said: “The TTZ experience and the exercises we undertake are not just for younger fitness fanatics, but well suited with tailoring by our specialist coaches to provide a fun and inclusive environment for all ages and abilities."

The classes, priced at £15, are attended by individuals up to 70 years old, many of whom suffer from heart issues or Parkinson's Disease.

Numerous senior members have entered the 2024 annual CrossFit Open, a 15-minute workout individualised to age and capacity, with their scores collated at both national and international level.

These achievements were highlighted when one elderly member ranked in the UK's Top 20 for the 65-70 age category.
