A planning appeal has been launched for a two-bedroom in Welham Green.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council refused the initial application to build the dwelling on land off Booths Close and Holloways Lane back in December last year.

"The positioning of the proposed dwelling and layout of development within the plot would fail to respect and relate to the layouts and patterns of existing dwellings and spaces in Skimpans Close, Booths Close and Holloways Lane," the council cited in their decision.

"The proposed layout of the development would therefore fail to relate to the surroundings and local distinctiveness and would contrast with the general pattern and layout of development in the area.

"Insufficient information has been provided as part of this application to enable the Local Planning Authority to fully assess the highway risks arising from the proposed development and to demonstrate that the development would not result in an unacceptable impact on highway safety.

"Accordingly, the proposed development poses a risk to highway safety."

The original plans faced objections from a number of residents living in nearby Skimpans Close, Booths Close and Holloways Lane.
