A former EastEnders actor and a returning Gordon Craig Theatre legend will appear in this year’s Stevenage pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.

The first cast members for this year’s Stevenage panto at the Gordon Craig Theatre have been announced by Jordan Productions.

After celebrating 30 years in the GCT panto last Christmas, Paul Laidlaw will return in 2017 as Dame Trott.

Stevenage panto stalwart Paul is not the only star from last year’s award-winning production of Peter Pan to return to the Lytton Way theatre in Jack and the Beanstalk.

For Aidan O’Neill is also back by popular demand as Simple Simon, with panto Jack on stage from Saturday, December 2 to Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Joining them will be ex-EastEnders favourite and Call the Midwife star Cliff Parisi, who will play Fleshcreep.

Cliff played Minty in Albert Square from 2002 to 2010 and is currently appearing as Fred in the BBC period drama Call the Midwife.

Following last year’s record-breaking box office smash Peter Pan, join intrepid Jack on the adventure of a lifetime as he scampers boldly up the beanstalk to do battle with Giant Blunderbore.

Does Dame Trott finally get her man?

Can Simple Simon work out which end of the cow needs milking?

Will Clarabelle remember her dance mooo-ves?

Find out in a fun-filled pantomime that scales new heights, with a spectacular stomping giant and all the magic and mayhem of a truly traditional Christmas extravaganza.
