After the success of last year’s record-breaking run of Cinderella, Act One Pantomimes will return to the Southdown Road venue in December with another laughter-packed family show.

The year’s festive treat will be Dick Whittington, with a star cast to be announced.

You can join hero Dick Whittington and his faithful cat Tommy as they set out on a quest to find fame and fortune in this ultimate rags-to-riches tale at Harpenden Public Halls from Saturday, December 9.

Will Dick find the streets paved with gold? Will he win the hand of the lovely Alice? Will he defeat the evil King Rat?

The story takes the audience from Gloucester to London and then to Morocco, with twists and turns and plenty of laughs along the way.

Harpenden’s 2016 panto, Cinderella, received rave reviews with the Herts Advertiser describing it as “fantastic fun” and calling it “undoubtedly the best panto Harpenden has seen in recent years”.

Dick Whittington will run from December 9 to Friday, December 22.

A spokesman said it “promises to be another spectacular magical show”.

Tickets for Dick Whittington are on sale now and cost £14, concessions £12, and lap seats £5.

• Tickets are available from the box office on 01582767525 or and Harpenden Public Halls’ website at www.harpendenpublichalls.co.uk
