SINGER and Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon has been nominated for a BRIT Award.

WELWYN Garden City’s Strictly Come Dancing queen Alesha Dixon is on The BRIT Awards 2010 shortlist.
The former Mis-Teeq singer is in the running for Best British Single at the awards bash to be held at Earls Court, London, on February 16.
Alesha’s single Breathe Slow is up against nine other contenders in the category, including X Factor winner Joe McElderry with his cover of Miley Cyrus song The Climb.
The Boy Does Nothing star and former Monk’s Walk School pupil, 31, is also challenging the likes of Alexandra Burke, JLS and Cheryl Cole for the coveted BRIT.

Alexandra Burke’s Bad Boys featuring Flo Rida features on the shortlist, as does X Factor judge and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole with Fight For This Love.
JLS’ chart-topper Beat Again is another song battling for the gong, along with La Roux’s effort In For The Kill.
Taio Cruz, who performed at the Forum in Hatfield last year, could win the trophy for Break Your Heart, while Tinchy Stryder featuring N-Dubz is contesting the same section with Number 1.
Pixie Lott’s Mama Do and Lily Allen with The Fear are also nominated.
St Albans band Friendly Fires are also up for two BRITS.
They have been nominated in British Group and British Breakthrough Act.
