KNEBWORTH Park rocked to the sound of the Red Hot Chili Peppers last night (Saturday) for a gig that will live long in the memory.

The venue has seen some of the world’s greatest rock bands strut their stuff over the years and it welcomed another to its doors for the 80,000-people capacity RHCP extravaganza.

Despite the rain soaking the packed crowd, who had been treated to the delights of Reverend and The Makers, The Wombats and Dizzee Rascal ahead of the American headliners, spirits where definitely high for the Chilis.

Cap-wearing frontman Anthony Kiedis whipped the mosh pit into a frenzy with the band’s funk, punk rock.

The band’s classic hits, such as Under the Bridge, Californication, By the Way, Can’t Stop and Around the World, to name just a few, went down a storm with newer tunes from most recent album I’m With You dotted in the set.
