ORGANISERS of Slam Dunk have added another batch of acts for the 2012 festival set for Hatfield next month.

After confirming Welsh post-hardcore heroes Funeral for a Friend last night (Tuesday), Canterbury, math-core merchants Marmozets and Hadouken! were all added to the University of Hertfordshire line-up this lunchtime (Wednesday).

The rock, pop-punk, metal, ska and emo festival takes place on the College Lane campus of the university for a third time on Sunday, May 27 – two days after the Herts uni’s summer ball.

Hadouken! will headline the Slam Dunk dance stage with a special DJ set.

Meanwhile, former Busted band member and Fightstar vocalist/guitarist Charlie Simpson will headline the acoustic stage at the Forum Hertfordshire.

He will be performing an exclusive stripped down intimate show which will be a must-see for his fans.

Other performers on the acoustic stage will include the story-telling prowess of Into It. Over It., Shane Henderson, formally of US pop-punk band Valencia, and UK underground hero Rob Lynch.

There will, as usual, be secret surprise acoustic performances by bands from the other stages as well.

The northern leg of Slam Dunk takes place in Leeds the day before the festival moves south to Hertfordshire.

Headlining the main stage are Taking Back Sunday, with Architects, The Blackout, Cancer Bats, Mayday Parade, Motion City Soundtrack, Lower Than Atlantis and Zebrahead also on the Hatfield bill.

However, The King Blues, who were originally confirmed for SDF12, have announced their break-up.
