Karen Sharp and guitarist Artie Zaitz will perform with the Clark Tracey Trio at Herts Jazz Club on Sunday, October 1.

This is the first of several gigs this season where Herts Jazz organisers have paired up established musicians with those deserving wider recognition.

Karen and Dave Green on bass are, of course, familiar award-winning faces on the jazz scene.

Meanwhile, Artie and pianist Rupert Cox can often be found at the Ronnie Scott’s Club jam sessions where both have gained reputations as future stars in the tradition.

A Herts Jazz spokesman said: “Come and enjoy a night of true spontaneity in music.”

The gig in Screen 2 of the Garden City Cinema starts at 7.30pm.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £9 members, £11 concessions and £12 full.

Walk-ups are £5 students, £10 members, £13 concessions and £14 full.

Book online at www.hertsjazz.co.uk/gigs.html or call the box office on 0300 3039 620.

The 2017 Herts Jazz Festival takes place at the Hawthorne Theatre from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15.

Tickets are on sale now from www.hertsjazzfestival.co.uk
