A virtuoso bassist makes a welcome return to Herts Jazz Club in Welwyn Garden City this weekend.

The Chris Laurence Quartet will play the club based in Screen 2 of the Garden City Cinema/Hawthorne Theatre complex tonight (Sunday, April 2).

Chris has had a successful career in both jazz and the classics.

He is one of the busiest studio musicians around, having worked with Kenny Wheeler, Andy Sheppard, the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Kronos Quartet.

He is joined on Sunday night at the CW Entertainment venue in The Campus by Frank Ricotti on vibes, guitarist John Parricelli and drummer Martin France.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £9 members, £11 concessions and £12 full.
