Britain’s foremost political singer-songwriter has joined the line-up of a Hatfield music festival.
Singer, songwriter and left-wing activist Billy Bragg will make his Folk by the Oak debut in Hatfield this summer.
The bard of Barking will appear on the FBTO main stage in the grounds of Hertfordshire stately home Hatfield House on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
A statement from festival organisers said: “A man of informed opinions, notable compassion and truly remarkable talent, who has inspired each and every one of us over the years, the Folk by the Oak team are proud to welcome the legend that is Billy Bragg to our Main Stage this summer!”
A New England, Levi Stubbs’ Tears and Sexuality singer Billy will be accompanied on stage by band member C.J. Hillman, the Americana Music Association UK pick for Instrumentalist of the Year 2017, playing dobro, pedal steel and electric guitar.
Billy Bragg is no stranger to Hatfield having played live at The Forum Hertfordshire back in 2010.
Organisers added: “Folk by the Oak 2018 is shaping up to be some party – we hope to see you there!”
Super early bird tickets for the annual all-day folk and acoustic festival are still available.
They cost £33.50 per adult if booked online by January 31 or £95 for a family ticket for two adults and two children.
Children’s tickets are still just £18.
