HERTFORDSHIRE indie dance favourites Friendly Fires have been nominated for two BRIT Awards.

FRIENDLY Fires will be battling for a couple of major trophies at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The St Albans trio are up for British Breakthrough Act and British Group at the music industry bash to be held at Earls Court, London, on Tuesday, February 16.
Ed Macfarland, Jack Savidge and Edd Gibson face competition from Florence & The Machine, X Factor runners-up JLS, La Roux and Pixie Lott in the breakthrough category.
The Jump In The Pool band are up against some of rock’s heavyweights in the British Group section.

Also nominated are Manchester three-piece Doves, who officially opened the Forum in Hatfield as a music venue last year, Kasabian and Devon trio Muse.
Boyband JLS are the other nominees.
Next month’s televised event will be hosted by comedian Peter Kay.
