The first Indiana Jones film, which was made at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire, was due to be shown outdoors at Hertford Castle on Saturday, August 26.

However, Johnny Depp adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl will now be screened in place of the Harrison Ford classic, which was released 36 years ago today (July 30).

An update on Hertford Town Council’s website states: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control, Hertford Town Council is no longer able to screen Raiders of the Lost Ark at the Hertford Castle Open Air Cinema event on Saturday 26th August.

“Please note that we will now show Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on the same date and time to replace the planned screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
