ROCK group Feeder will perform live at next month’s University of Hertfordshire Summer Ball 2011.
Formed in Newport, Wales, in 1991, the three-piece have been added to the bill for the uni students’ traditional end-of-term bash at the Forum on Friday, May 27.
They join the event’s previously confirmed headliners, including London production duo Chase and Status, who are down for a DJ set at the ball.
Feeder are best known for top five hit Buck Rogers and will be making a welcome return to the Hatfield event after headlining in 2009, the same year they first played Knebworth’s Sonisphere rock festival.
The trio – singer and guitarist Grant Nicholas, bass player Taka Hirose and drummer Karl Brazil – also performed a late-night set at Knebworth last summer in the Bohemia tent under the guise of Renegades, the name of their most recent album.
As well as Buck Rogers, the band’s other big hits include Seven Days in the Sun, Just a Day, Come Back Around, Tumble and Fall, Just the Way I’m Feeling, Forget About Tomorrow and Feeling the Moment.
Last year’s university party on the College Lane campus featured Brit Award winners Florence and the Machine, indie group Pigeon Detectives and Pass Out star Tinie Tempah live on stage.
