FORMER Dr Who and EastEnders actress Louise Jameson will be Pulling Faces at Hertford Theatre this weekend in a play described as ‘Bridget Jones 30 years on’.
Famous for her role as Dr Who’s leather-clad barbarian warrior companion Leela in the late 70s, Louise plays Joanne Taylor – a former TV diva who is on the verge of her 55th birthday, seriously single, ‘hot-flushing’ and about to make some drastic changes in her life.
Should she go under the knife to enhance her looks, or go on a date with her toyboy?
Pulling Faces is an acerbic, topical comedy about society’s obsession with youth, beauty and transformation.
It is Louise’s latest stage role in a 40-year acting career.
She is currently appearing in Doc Martin and her other TV credits include Bergerac, Tenko and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole.
However, her first love is the theatre. And she has been seen on stage with both the National and Royal Shakespeare Companies.
Pulling Faces is on at Hertford Theatre, in The Wash, on Saturday, January 21 from 7.45pm.
Tickets are £15, £13 concessions, and available from the box office on 01992 531500 or www.herfordtheatre.com
