THERE will be a series of fun family-friendly theatre workshops at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield next week.

Gomito Theatre come to The Weston Auditorium on the university’s de Havilland Campus on Thursday, April 5.

Aimed at encouraging children’s creativity during the Easter break, activities will include storytelling from 10am to 11am.

Youngsters will then have the chance to participate in practical drama games to create original stories and learn to engage their audience.

Junk puppetry, from noon to 1pm, will be an introduction to puppetry skills, with those attending encouraged to use their imagination to create new characters and stories out of everyday objects.

A play making workshop will take place from 2pm to 4.15pm, where parents can join in and help make a play from scratch, with support from Gomito.

The age suitability of these workshops is eight plus, (five plus for storytelling), and places are priced at £6 to £8 per child.

To book places, telephone 01707 281127 or email uharts@herts.ac.uk (Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm).
