The new Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody is set to rock cinema audiences – with fans encouraged to dress up as Freddie Mercury at one Stevenage venue.
To celebrate the movie’s release in 4DX, Cineworld Stevenage is encouraging guests to dress like the band Queen for one night only.
On Wednesday, October 24, the cinema will be transporting attendees back in time with a fancy dress screening at 9pm.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury.
So rock your best Freddie moustache and yellow gold-braided jacket, dust off your old black and white tiled jumpsuit – Queen is the theme of the evening and Cineworld is putting no limit on creativity.
Georgina Jones, general manager of Cineworld Stevenage said: “We are looking forward to welcoming fans of Queen to one of the first screenings of Bohemian Rhapsody.
“Not only will they dress the part, but the 4DX experience will truly transport them into the beat of the onscreen action.”
A £100 voucher will even be awarded to the best dressed ticket holder on the night, which can be used to enjoy some of the upcoming 4DX immersive cinema releases, including The Grinch, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald, Robin Hood, Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck It Ralph 2 and Aquaman.
Queen’s last ever live gig with Freddie Mercury as lead singer took place at Knebworth Park in the summer of 1986.
The new Queen film – starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury and Gwilym Lee as Brian May – promises to be an epic biography depicting the meteoric rise of the We Are The Champions band from their early beginnings right through to their triumphant Live Aid appearance.
With the screening taking place in the 4DX auditorium, customers will take their experience of Bohemian Rhapsody to the next level – the action will literally ‘rock’ you.
4DX is an innovative technology that uses high-tech motion seats and special effects to stimulate all five senses.
Wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water and scents work in perfect synchronicity with the film to bring the action on screen to life.
