BLONDIE kicked off their summer UK tour in Hatfield last night (Wednesday) and showed exactly why they are members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

At the pre Isle of White Festival gig, they proved they will fit right in with other rock royalty on the weekend’s line-up, which also features Paul McCartney and fellow New Yorkers The Strokes.
Since the late 70s the American new wave band, fronted by Debbie Harry, have amassed followers across the globe and judging by the turnout at the Forum, Hertfordshire is no different.
Students, and folk their parents’ age, mixed together, sang their hearts out and boogied the night away to the Blondie belters old and new.
Firm favourites such as Atomic, Call Me, One Way or Another, Maria and Hanging on the Telephone were mixed with newer, and as equally well received, efforts.
1979: Heart of Glass
1979: Sunday Girl
1980: Atomic
1980: Call Me
1980: The Tide Is High
1999: Maria
Now in her mid-sixties, Harry and her band-mates keep the tunes coming and they are set to release their 12th studio album Panic of Girls later this year.
