DO you want to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games?

Well here’s your chance to carry the flame in the 24-hour torch relay to the Paralympics.

Sainsbury’s in WGC is calling on residents across Times Territory to nominate themselves or a team of up to five people for this exciting, once-in-a-lifetime event.

And with just over two weeks to get your nominations in, 2012 Olympic hopeful and WGC resident Jodie Williams joined Sainsbury’s manager Alan Larkin to call on Welwyn Hatfield people to get involved.

Olympic organising committee chairman Lord Coe said: “All around the UK there are teams or individuals that embody the Paralympic values and make a difference to the lives of others.

“The London 2012 Paralympic Torch Relay aims to recognise the contribution of some of these amazing people.

“The Sainsbury’s nomination process is the final of the three campaigns run by our Paralympic Torch Relay Presenting Partners so if there is a team or individual in Welwyn Hatfield you feel deserves recognition for their contribution, then I would encourage you to nominate them.”

Store manager Alan Larkin added: “This a great opportunity for our customers in Welwyn Hatfield to get involved in the build up to the Paralympic Games.

“To have the opportunity of carrying the Paralympic Flame and help launch this year’s games really would be a great honour for an individual or team from Welwyn Hatfield.”

Pop into Sainsbury’s in Church Road for a nomination form, or call 01299 382074 for more information.

Nominations close on Tuesday, February 14.

The Olympic Torch Relay will be coming through WGC and Hatfield on July 8.
