In the wake of cycling’s Women’s Tour, excitement is building for the region’s next big sporting event: The Welwyn Hatfield Festival of Sport which makes a welcome return on Sunday (May 25).

It will once again be held at Stanborough Park, and well over a thousand athletes are expected to take part in a wide variety of challenging sporting disciplines.

The festival, organised by Hercules Events in partnership with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, will include a half marathon, 10km run, 1.5km children’s fun run and school’s challenge, four triathlons, three open water swim races and a 100km cycle.

There are limited places available in the events, sign up by visiting www.herculesevents.com
