WELWYN Garden City’s Tom Lewis finished 72nd at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, which was won by Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello on Sunday.
The 21-year-old from Hertfordshire had rounds of 70, 70, 75, 76 to finish three-over par at the Emirates Golf Club.
Lewis’ opening two rounds, both in two-under par, had seen him make the cut four-under par.
However, he dropped down the leaderboard in the final two rounds to finish with prize-money of €2,837.
He is now 77th in the Race to Dubai, which is a US$8,000,000 season-long competition spanning a minimum of 46 tournaments in 25 countries and all five continents on The 2012 European Tour International Schedule. The leading 60 players will take part in the event.
