Former Welwyn skipper Zoe Harrison was back with a bang as Saracens surged to a 32-15 win over Bristol Bears in the Tyrrells Premier 15s.

She started the game at Shaftesbury Park, her first appearance of the season after injuring her thigh over the summer.

And it took just 21 minutes to make her mark, a quick burst and cheeky dummy sending her over from eight yards.

It was Saracens’ second try of the game but for Harrison, who played at both U15 and U18 level at Hobbs Way, it was just a delight to be back playing.

Speaking on the club’s website she said: “We played well as a team. The wind was a bit of a struggle in the first half, but we brought good energy to overcome it.

“I’m really pleased to get my first 40 minutes of the season under my belt. I’m looking forward to playing more with the girls and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Former Welwyn team-mate Lotte Clapp bagged herself two tries as did Bryony Cleall while ex-Harpenden junior Sarah McKenna got the other.

The side take a three-week break to accommodate the autumn internationals with the next game against top-of-the-table Loughborough Lightning on Saturday, November 24.
