POTTERS Bar skiing prodigy Robert Poth scooped two gold medals at the 2012 British Alpine Ski Racing Championships.
The 2012 winter ski race season has certainly opened on a high for 14-year-old Great Britain ski racer Robert.
Robert stormed to victory using ATOMIC ski equipment with stunning performances winning both Slalom and Giant Slalom disciplines overall at the 2012 British Alpine Race Ski Clubs Championships held on the Del Bosco piste in Champoluc, Italy.
Over 100 competitors in the children Under-15 age category competed at the BARSC and in the Slalom race which consisted of two runs on different courses for the championship title.
Robert comfortably won both runs and a podium finish to claim the gold trophy overall.
The following day, despite challenging weather conditions for race organisers and competitors, Robert achieved another impressive overall win.
He secured the Giant Slalom championship overall and was presented with the 2012 BARSC award for the overall Best British Children Under-15 male ski racer.
Robert said: “I’m really happy with my results, it’s a great start to my season and I thank everyone that is supporting me this year.”
Robert hopes to continue his fine form as he heads off next to the Czech Republic with Team GB to represent Great Britain at the ‘Ski Interkriterium ‘ International Children’s ski race championships.
Robert is still looking for a financial sponsor to help with the costs of his future snow training as a member of the GB Children’s ski team.
