Old Owens remain top of the SHCL Division One table after a three-wicket win at home to Broxbourne.

Batting first after winning the toss, the visitors made 228-6 in their 50 overs.

Charlie Willis top scored with 74 and there was 71 from Gagan Dissanayake.

Jack Bloxham and Rhys Carter took two wickets each.

In reply the hosts started well with Carter (47) and Chris Whitworth (28) making 83 for the first wicket.

Both fell quickly after the other but the pair were replaced by Shadrach Gittens-Brown (26) and Chris Palmer (29).

And this was where Owens starred as whenever one partnership ended, another quickly took its place.

They put on 46 for the third wicket and when they were out, Ralph and Bradley Lane took over.

Jordan Carter (24) and Robert Sibley (12) then took Owens to the win with seven overs in hand.

They travel to Knebworth Park on Saturday.
