Their 104-run victory at Broxbourne, coupled with Shenley Village’s dramatic one-wicket loss at home to Ickleford means the Coopers Lane cricket club have clinched the crown with one game to spare.

Owens were in superb form at Mill Lane and set themselves up for the victory with a fantastic batting performance.

Sergio Fedee blasted an unbeaten 114, a knock that included 14 boundaries, as the visitors made 263-5 in their 48 overs.

He was helped along the way by Chris Palmer (34) and Bradley Lane (21*) but the biggest assist came from Tom Moody who hit 65 in 43 balls, with the pair adding 115 for the fifth wicket.

Broxbourne had threatened to make it an interesting chase with 70 for the first wicket but they soon fell away and finished well adrift at the close.

Robert Sibley (3-30) and Andrew Sutton (2-44) were the stars with the ball for Owens.
