Medal and trophy success for Knebworth Karate Club at regional championship

Knebworth Karate Club had a successful time of things at the regional ESKA Karate Championship.

The Woolmer Green-based club, who train at the Village Hall, sent a total of 39 students to the event at Stevenage Leisure Centre.

And after months of training hard, they showed great competitive spirit to pick up 17 medals and trophies across the categories.

There was a total of 68 categories contested including kihon, individual kata, team kata and kumite, a freestyle form of fighting.

Instructors Tony Stone and Owen Ramsden said: “All the club instructors would like to congratulate every student who entered the competition for showing great competitive spirit, enthusiasm and support for these annual championships.

“In recognition for participating in such a big tournament, every student received a certificate and participation medal.”
