Tewin Cricket Club secured back-to-back promotions with victory over Old Finchleians 2nds in Division Six A – and they have now set their sights on the title.

WGC 3rds’ defeat to Mill Hill ensured Tewin will finish at least second. However, they are just five points behind leaders Rickmansworth.

Fielding first after overnight rain, Tewin’s bowlers were as accurate as ever and picked up regular wickets.

Will Pickworth (3-20) got a couple early while Paul Shankster (1-23) bowled tightly at the other end.

Jamie Bryce (2-23) was unlucky not to get a couple more and the spin pairing of Mo Harihar (1-30) and Luke Wilde (3-33) ensured Finchley were all out for 128.

The response was ruthless and completed with 27 overs to spare.

Jordan Brunel (34) and Rob Patterson (36) both looked in fine form and Pete Brooks, hitting a swashbuckling 12 not out from five balls, and Wilde (23*) clinched the victory.
