A ‘star’ is coming home after benecosMavericks announced the capture of George Fisher.

The England netball forward started her career with the Hatfield-based side at the age of 13 and made her Vitality Netball Superleague debut back in 2015.

She has spent the last two years at Wasps helping them to two league titles but has now decided to return home.

She said: “I’m really excited about coming back to Mavericks as it’s always been like home for me.

“I have loved my last two years at Wasps and have learnt so much but I feel now is the right time for me to be coming home and I’m excited about what this season could bring.”

Director of netball Kat Ratnapala said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that George has made the decision to come home to Mavericks.

“She has always been a star in our eyes and we are excited to get her back into the purple and black dress and out onto court as quickly as possible.”
