There is always less competitive races during the height of the summer holidays but Garden City Runners still managed to find plenty of action.

Lorenzo Franchi took a trip to Norway for the Stavanger Marathon, a up and down event around the lakes and fjords.

His finishing time was three hours 28 minutes 10 seconds.

The Severn Bridge Half Marathon was the destination for Kath and Mike Evans, a loop starting and finishing in Chepstow with two crossings of the estuary.

They both finished in 2:24:22 on the undulating course.

Parkrun tourism is also high on the agenda at this time with Bruce Judge first at Bedfont Lakes near Ashford, Paul Guy third finisher at Barnstaple and Charlee Chapman second lady, and with a PB, at Aylesbury.

Congratulations were also due to Robert Saville who completed his 50th parkrun at Panshanger.
