A up-and-coming badminton star from Welwyn Garden City has won a hat-trick of medals at the Herts Bronze Tournament in Stevenage.

Holly Clayton completed a full set of medals, claiming a gold, silver and bronze in the three disciplines.

The gold came in the singles, where a 21-19 win over Darcy Clarke in the final gave her victory.

Three group-stage victories were followed by a 21-11 semi-final success over Diya George.

The medal haul had started in the mixed doubles, where she competed with Harry Goode for the first time.

The Herts pair took four straight wins to reach the semi-final, before a narrow 21-19 loss to Luca Perryman and Jessica Beckett left them with a bronze.

She partnered Lavigne Leung to silver in the women’s doubles.

Four straight wins in the group put them into the final against Leona Lee and Anchal Garg, where they lost 21-18.
