Welwyn Garden City men were left frustrated and disappointed after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to second from bottom Bishop’s Stortford.

The men in blue started with pace and dominated early on but were denied by the visitors who then had an attacking spell of their own.

However, it was WGC who got their noses in front when Bryn Evans converted a Dan Hatt cross but they couldn’t take the lead into half-time as Stortford equalised on the break.

The second half continued with City probing and Stortford using the counter attack.

Again Welwyn took the lead with Fowler reacting quickest to a ball in the air but as time ran down a penalty corner was forced in for Stortford’s second equaliser.

Jens van Helden sent a late chance wide as it finished level but Welwyn will fell they should have put away more of their first-half chances.
