Pett joined Bar, his hometown club, at the age of 17 and has been one of the standout performers of the past two seasons.

Leaving with the best wishes of the Division One North outfit, Pett said: “I have enjoyed it, it’s been the best time I have had at a club.

“Adam [Lee - manager] has been really good to me, he gave me the chance to play and the freedom to play just behind the striker which I enjoy.”

The skillful 20-year-old is to join a side who have a reputation for nurturing non-league talents and helping them progress to the professional game.

The likes of Leicester City striker Jermaine Beckford and Wycombe Wanderers defender Marvin McCoy all played for The Stones before joining pro clubs.

Pett added: “Wealdstone contacted me a few weeks ago and they have offered me a chance to get more experience playing at a better level, that’s what I want to do.

“I’ll be playing with better players against better players and at a better ground which will all give me more experience.”
