Lemsford Youth U17s football team won the opening game of their season.

Lemsford Youth U17 kicked off the new season with a convincing 5-3 victory against Sumners Vipers.

Callum Latter and Dan Sadler both scored twice with Will Felstead getting the other.

It took a little while for both teams to settle but the Tigers got the opening goal with a quick free-kick from Scott Davies sailing over the keeper to the unmarked Felstead.

Sumners equalised but back came Lemsford and Sadler danced round two defenders before finding the roof of the net. Sadler’s second gave them a 3-1 half-time lead.

Lemsford took further control in the second half, going 5-1 up and could have had more but Max Winter’s shot was tipped on to the bar.

Vipers pulled two back thanks to defensive errors but Lemsford were not threatened and again were denied a sixth by the wood work late on, Jack Mongey’s header this time the unlucky effort.
