Former Potters Bar captain Tom Pett becomes Boro’s sixth signing of the summer

Stevenage have agreed to sign Wealdstone’s Tom Pett for an undisclosed fee, subject to the winger passing a medical this week.

The 22-year-old netted 18 times last season making him one of the hottest properties in the Ryman Premier and Boro beat off competition from other Football League clubs for the former Potters Bar man’s signature on an initial one-year deal.

Wealdstone manager Gordon Bartlett told his club’s website: “We are delighted for Tom and although we are naturally sorry to see him go, he thoroughly deserves this great opportunity.”

Pett joined Wealdstone in January 2012 following two seasons with Potters Bar, his hometown club.
