POTTERS Bar Town claimed the derby spoils at county rivals Ware yesterday with a thumping 4-1 Ryman League win.
ELLIS Remy bagged a second-half brace as Potters Bar Town claimed a 4-1 away triumph at Ware yesterday (Saturday).
The hitman, on-loan from Bishop’s Stortford, guided the Scholars to their eighth Ryman League Division One North victory of the season.
On a sticky pitch in East Herts, Town took the lead on 36 minutes.
A superb mazy run from left-back Guy Helman resulted in skipper Joe O’Brien tucking in past home custodian Harry Ricketts.
The advantage was doubled just before the hour mark as centre-half Lewis Payne headed a Luke Croll corner into the back of the net.
Ware pulled one back five minutes later when Phil Turner’s well-executed volley flew into the top left corner of keeper Matt Bennett’s goal.
Remy blasted home a penalty after a dubiously awarded kick following a Michael Sharman handball to make it 3-1.
The referee then gave the hosts a spot-kick which winger Thomas Mustapha took and saw saved by Bennett.
Bar added a fourth in injury time from a free-kick seven yards from goal following a questionable back-pass decision given by the linesman.
Aryan Tajbakhsh passed to Remy, who rifled past a Ware wall on the goal-line to complete the scoring and secure Adam Lee’s side the three points.
