Potters Bar Town president Bert Wright has passed away

POTTERS Bar Town Football Club president Bert Wright has died at the age of 95.

Mr Wright, who was one of the founder members of the club nearly 52 years ago, passed away in Barnet General Hospital after an illness.

He was a popular president that has supported and been immensely proud of The Scholars’ achievements ever since.

Bert led the club into its 50th year in 2010 and he was also awarded the Football Association’s 50 Years Achievement Award.

Mr Wright’s funeral will be at Our Lady and St Vincents Church, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar on Thursday, February 2, at 10am.
