HATFIELD Town play fellow strugglers Biggleswade United tomorrow (Saturday) and chairman Chris Maloney has issued a rallying cry ahead of the relegation six-pointer.

After a difficult week that saw Darryn Stewart dismissed from his role as joint-manager, Town will be ‘hosting’ Biggleswade at Top Field, home of Hitchin Town.

But Maloney wants the club to put their recent troubles behind them, both on the pitch and off it.

“I think the reality has hit home now, and we all know we are in a real battle to stay up [in the SSML Premier Division].

“I just want everyone to get behind the lads; it’s not going to be easy, but I’m confident we can get out of trouble.

“We can’t dwell on the past or on what has happened, I just want the lads to pull on the shirt with pride and get the three points against Biggleswade tomorrow.”

The Blueboys sit second bottom in the league, only two points clear of basement club Hanwell Town. Holmer Green, who defeated Hatfield 4-2 on Tuesday night, are one spot and one point above the Times Territory outfit.

Then comes Biggleswade United, fourth-bottom and four points ahead of Hatfield.
