HATFIELD Town have parted company with manager Darryn Stewart, the Welwyn Hatfield Times can exclusively reveal.
Chairman Chris Maloney has taken the difficult decision with The Blueboys languishing second-bottom of the SSML Premier Division, and came in the wake of Tuesday night’s 4-2 away defeat to fellow strugglers Holmer Green.
With just nine games to go in the league season, Hatfield Town face a real fight to avoid relegation, and this Saturday they face another six-pointer when they take on Biggleswade United.
Maloney confirmed that Kevin Pearman, who jointly managed the team with Stewart, will remain at the club, as will coach Gary Ansell.
Loyal defender Richard Cooke will take temporary charge for Saturday’s game.
