Codicote were the lucky outfit, as their fixture away at Baldock Town triumphed over the arctic conditions - helped by a 3G synthetic pitch!

The result of the Herts Senior County League Premier Division clash was a 0-0 stalemate.

Elsewhere, Potters Bar Town’s home tie against play-off rivals Grays Athletic was called off at the South Mimms Travel Stadium, in a complete wipeout in the Ryman League Division One North.

Hatfield Town’s highly-anticipated home clash against derby rivals Colney Heath in the SSML Premier Division was also postponed, with areas of the Gosling Stadium pitch deemed unsafe to play on.

In SSML Division One, WGC’s away game against near-nighbours Harpenden Town was another Times Territory encounter to fall foul of the bad weather.

The outcomes were the same for Knebworth, Panshanger FC, Kimpton Rovers, AFC Hatfield Town and Lemsford in Division One of the Herts County League.

As if those conditions weren’t bad enough, heavy snow fell overnight on the Saturday, which wiped out any small chance of Welwyn Hatfield Sunday Football League fixtures taking place.

In our side’s upcoming fixtures, Potters Bar Town are hoping the weather improves by the time they come to face Waltham Forest away on Saturday (February 11).

For Hatfield, they may well be wishing for a minor miracle on the weather front as they are set to travel to take on Aylesbury United tomorrow night (Wednesday).

More realistic perhaps, is the hope that their tricky-looking home clash against Tring Athletic this Saturday goes ahead.

Darryn Stewart and Kevin Pearman’s Blueboys are desperate to pull away from the relegation zone in the SSML Premier Division.

And they made a positive effort in that when they won their last league game out, a 2-0 success away at high-flying Hillingdon Borough.

For WGC, they will be hoping not only that their game goes ahead on Saturday, but that they take maximum points when they host fifth-bottom Stony Stratford Town in SSM Division One action.

After somewhat of a resurgence following a dismal 7-0 home defeat against Bedford in the league back on January 11, the Citizens will be hoping to make it four wins on the bounce.

On Saturday in Division One of the Herts County League, AFC Hatfield Town are away at Belstone (Saturday).

In the same league, Panshanger travel to Evergreen, Kimpton Rovers host Hertford Heath, and Lemsford will welcome Croxley Guild.
