WBO world middleweight boxing champion Billy Joe Saunders has confirmed on Twitter he is now working with renowned trainer Adam Booth.

Earlier today (Wednesday) the Hatfield fighter posted a picture of himself with his new trainer and said: “Looking forward to the future under the guidance of this man.”

Saunders and Booth are well known to each other with Saunders winning the WBO crown in 2015 from Irishman Andy Lee who was then, and still is, trained by London-based Booth.

Booth has previously worked with the likes of David Haye, George Groves and Chris Eubank Jnr.

Saunders had spent his entire professional career under the watchful eye of Jimmy Tibbs, however the two stopped working together before Saunders’ first world title defence in December.

The 27-year-old admitted he was well below-par as he successfully defended his belt against Russian Artur Akavov in Scotland claiming a unanimous points victory.

Saunders hopes to announce the date of his next fight and opponent in the coming week.
