A Woolmer Green care home is fundraising for a cancer charity as part of a nationwide event.

Knebworth Care Home in London Road is urging residents to join them for coffee, cake and a chat in a bid to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

It is part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which takes place on Friday, September 28, and involves people holding fundraisers to support those facing cancer in Britain.

Home manager Vera Moreira-Henocq said: “We wanted to do our bit for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to show our support for all the amazing things this charity does – from grants for those unable to work to the amazing nurses.

“It also gives us an excuse to put on a bit of a party and invite local people, family and friends to join us.”

Since the first coffee morning in 1990, over £200million has been raised to help the charity continue helping people with cancer.
