Cornelia Lush launched the legal case against former WGC woman Debra Kelly, who struck Kenny Lush in May 2009 as he cycled home along the A414 between Hatfield and Hertford.

Kelly, who admitted drinking a large glass of wine, flipped her car and left the scene, only handing herself into police seven hours later.

Then aged 38, she was convicted of causing death by careless driving, but as she was heavily pregnant her 24-week jail term was suspended.

Kelly, (nee Hearn) of Concourse Way, Sheaf Street, Sheffield, and formerly of Tubbs Croft, WGC, admitted liability for the crash in a writ issued at London’s High Court this week, but the two sides are believed to be unable to agree the amount Mrs Lush should receive.

Mr Lush ran his family business, Lush Heat Treatment in Hatfield and died aged 47, leaving four children.
