A MASKED mugger pushed a woman to the ground as he stole her bag near Hatfield railway station.
The 52-year-old woman screamed as she was thrown onto the ground by the 5ft 8ins tall thug, who was described as a white man, wearing a dark hooded top, a dark scarf around his face, and a navy waterproof jacket with dark bottoms.
The victim had just arrived at the station at 8.30pm on a train from London.
She walked over the bridge and onto Beaconsfield Road, where she became aware of someone on the other side of the road near to an alleyway. She turned left and walked across French Horn Lane when the offender, believed to be in his 20’s, grabbed her bag and left laying on the ground as he ran off towards a nearby housing estate.
She suffered minor injuries to her knees, after the attack on Monday, February 13.
Detective constable Mark Cotte from the local crime unit at Hatfield police station is investigating.
He said: “I believe a number of people will have got off the train at Hatfield along with the victim and may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area. If this was you, please contact police. I would also like to ask anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they saw what happened, saw the offender prior to the offence or running from the scene to call.”
